Senior Lecturer: MA Awards (0.6 FTE) Fixed Term

Salary : £42,149 to £50,296 per annum (pro rata)
To assist us in driving our strategic and creative vision forward, the University is now seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer for MA Awards. The postholder will be an advocate for the cultural, social and economic benefit of the arts who shares the values of the University.
The MA programme at the University currently comprises eight awards in Communication Design, Curation, Fashion, Fine Art, Games, Moving Image & Sound, Photography and Textile Design. The programme celebrates collaboration and interdisciplinarity and a significant amount of the curriculum is shared across the awards. This post has been developed to support the courses through the next eighteen months as we review and develop our taught postgraduate provision.
The postholder will contribute to the organisation and administration of the programme and develop and deliver teaching on shared units of study. The role involves working closely with the Course Leader, Taught Post-Graduate Awards and will involve responsibility for the organisation, management and leadership of one or more units.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the nature and challenges of postgraduate study and the requirements of an excellent student experience. You will be an experienced creative practitioner in a discipline related to one of the MA Awards and be able to demonstrate currency in your industry experience and/or research practice. A breadth of understanding of the creative disciplines beyond your own is essential, together with an enthusiasm for collaborative and interdisciplinary working. You will be an advocate for responsible and inclusive practices who champions every student and fosters a climate of success through debate and co-creation of learning. You will be knowledgeable in the theories and histories of art and design and have an understanding of research-informed and reflective practice.
You will be able to demonstrate your skills as an engaging, supportive and inclusive teacher and have the ability to deliver innovative and engaging digital and on-campus teaching sessions which are tailored to our postgraduate learners. High levels of organisation and the ability to work with colleagues across the university are essential skills for the role.
